MARBLE CARVING

Marble Carving is the most important course at the School and requires 16 teaching hours per week. In the Marble Carving course, students are taught how to carve marble, the tools, structure, and techniques involved, how to transfer a model made of plaster or other materials onto marble, the technique of Byzantine relief, and more. The ancient and traditional techniques are of crucial importance in teaching Marble Craftsmanship. Practical exercises in marble processing are included.
